GRID BASED FONT

This grid based font was inspired by Wim Crouwel. Within researching him, I started to noticed a trend in his grid based typography. When he created New Alphabet, he designed it on a system using cathode-ray tube technology. The letters were created on a variable grid, based on a square. I took this same idea and created a one by one inch square. I came up with a ribbon three-dimensional effect. This effect can be parallel to the picture surface, or it can skew and recede into space. This project let me explore the different uses of grid base designing, where a font does not have to be shown in a two-dimentional aspect.
